Dr. Hee Yun Lee's major research areas are cancer health and mental health disparities among minority immigrants, especially Asian American immigrants and refugees. Her current work focuses on cancer health disparity issues in the Asian American immigrant community, particularly examining the impact of culture and immigration status on health belief and behaviors, quality of cancer care, and quality of life among cancer survivors and caregivers. Her other funded research focuses on mental health issues in Southeast Asian cancer survivors, and she is currently developing culturally competent psychosocial intervention for this population.
