Dr. Jonson graduated magna cum laude with a degree in biology from Creighton University. She received her M.D. degree from Creighton University School of Medicine and completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Minnesota, where she also conducted a fellowship in gynecologic oncology. In 2007, after practicing in Washington, D.C., at Georgetown University Hospital and the Washington Hospital Center, Dr. Jonson returned to join the faculty in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Women's Health at the University of Minnesota.
