Dr. Rahel Ghebre is an assistant professor in the Division of Gynecologic Oncology within the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Women's Health. Her clinical practice involves caring for women with ovarian, endometrial, cervical, vulvar and vaginal cancer at the University of Minnesota Women's Health Clinic. Dr. Ghebre is the gynecologic specialist for the University of Minnesota Fanconi Anemia Comprehensive Care program and is board certified in gynecologic oncology in addition to obstetrics and gynecology.

Dr. Ghebre received her M.D. degree at the University of Michigan. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology, and fellowship in gynecologic-oncology at the University of Minnesota in 2004. She then joined as a faculty member in the Division of Gynecologic Oncology in 2005. Dr. Ghebre is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology. Dr. Ghebre was an NIH BIRCWH (Building Interdisciplinary Research Careers in Women's Health Scholar.

Dr. Ghebre's research is focused on clinical trials in the field of gynecologic oncology and cancer prevention. She is active as co-investigator on clinical trials for ovarian, endometrial, cervix and vulva cancer. Her area of research is cancer disparity, in particular, cervical cancer health prevention for underscreened populations of women and clinical trial participation for minority patients diagnosed with cancer.
