Dr. Flood received an undergraduate degree in biology from Princeton University and a master's degree in history from the University of New Hampshire. He finished his Ph.D. in the Division of Nutritional Sciences at Cornell University and then completed postdoctoral training in the Division of Cancer Epidemiology and Genetics at the National Cancer Institute. Dr. Flood joined the faculty at the University of Minnesota in 2003.

Research Interests

Dietary causes of cancer with primary emphasis on colorectal cancer. Particularly interested in the role of insulin resistance, the IGF axis, and related factors such as glycemic load and obesity in the etiology of colorectal cancer.
