The Health Survey Research Center (HSRC), staffed by personnel from two former survey centers (EpiCH's DCSS Center and HPM's Survey Research Center), is a new SPH research support center providing health survey research products and services. HSRC is located in the School of Public Health at the University of Minnesota.

HSRC collects and manages research data for population-based research. Services include sample selection; survey design; pre-testing; forms layout; mail surveys; telephone surveys; Internet surveys; tracking study subjects lost to follow up; data entry (key and verify); and database design and management.

Health Survey Research Center Facilities

HSRC is housed at 717 Delaware St SE, Suite 132 in the School of Public Health. Currently, the center has 38 interviewing stations available equipped with computer-assisted telephone interview (CATI) capabilities. A silent monitor is available, so supervisors can monitor interviews for quality assurance. HSRC has a 1-800 call-in line, which allows study participants from all over the country to easily contact us.

HSRC uses CASES (Computer-Assisted Survey Execution System), a CATI program, designed and supported by the University of California at Berkeley for computer-assisted telephone interviewing.

HSRC also supports studies using mail (self-administered) data collection instruments and Internet data collection instruments.
