Clinical trials help physician-researchers answer specific questions about medications, vaccines or new therapies. Carefully conducted clinical trials are the fastest and safest way to find treatments that work. See About Clinical Trials for information about deciding to participate in a clinical trial.
Before any cancer clinical trials (also called clinical protocols) are available to patients, the Cancer Protocol Review Committee evaluates them for scientific merit and prioritization.
