Cancer Summit 2009

The Minnesota Cancer Alliance invites individuals from the cancer community to the sixth annual Cancer Summit 2009: Partners in Progress, Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009, at Hotel Sofitel in Bloomington. Health care professionals, community outreach workers, advocates and survivors will come together for this working meeting to help take Alliance activities to the next level.

Keynote speaker Jim Chase, Minnesota Community Measurement president, will provide an overview of cancer screening data, including how data can impact coalitions to take action.

In addition, this year's Summit will feature:

  • "My Colorectal Cancer Journey" survivor story from Ruth Edstrom
  • Breakout sessions highlighting 2009-2010 Alliance projects
  • Working sessions—including colorectal cancer, prostate cancer and quality of life initiatives —to highlight new projects, identify resources and accelerate progress
  • Spirit of Collaboration Awards
  • Reception

Cancer Summit Registration

The Masonic Cancer Center will pay the Cancer Summit registration fee for members and staff:

  • Print the registration form available in the Cancer Summit brochure.
  • Do not mail the registration to the address indicated on the form.
  • Fax (612-626-3069) or mail (MMC 806) your registration form to Robin Toy by the end of the day Monday, October 26. Leave the payment method blank and Robin will submit the registration with payment.
  • If you do not receive a confirmation within three work days that your application has been received, please contact Robin Toy at 612-625-2159 or toyxx010@umn.edu.

The Minnesota Cancer Alliance is a coalition of health care institutions, community-based groups and volunteers that evolved from collaborative efforts to create Cancer Plan Minnesota. Founded in 2005, the Alliance was formed to support and implement the plan. Any organization or individual interested in working to reduce the state's cancer burden can join the Alliance at no cost.
