Hecht, Folsom inducted into AHC Academy for Excellence

Stephen Hecht, Ph.D.

Stephen Hecht, Ph.D., Wallin Chair of Cancer Prevention at the Masonic Cancer Center, leader of the Carcinogenesis and Chemoprevention Program, and co-director of the Transdisciplinary Tobacco Use Research Center (TTURC), has been inducted into the Academy for Excellence in Health Research. The Academy recognizes the highest achievement of research within the University of Minnesota Academic Health Center.

Dr. Hecht's research focuses on tobacco carcinogens and cancer prevention. His research in risk assessment and chemoprevention has contributed greatly to the advancement of cancer research and treatment.

Aaron Folsom

Aaron R. Folsom, M.D., M.P.H.

Also inducted into the Academy was Cancer Center member Aaron R. Folsom, M.D., M.P.H., Folsom is recognized worldwide as one of the top cardiovascular epidemiologists. He is a principal investigator of the Iowa Women's Health Study, which has led to more than 200 publications about lifestyle, diet and cancer.
