Levi Downs, M.D., co-leader of the Women's Cancer Research Program, authored the article "Cervical Cancer: what have we learned about the HPV vaccine?" published in the January 2009 issue of Minnesota Healthcare New.

Dorothy Hatsukami, Ph.D., associate director of population sciences, was quoted in a U.S. News & World Report article on the safety of "smokeless" substitutes for cigarettes.

Targeted Anticancer Therapies Symposium
March 23-25, 2009, Amsterdam, The Netherlands
The European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) and the National Cancer Institute will be sponsoring TAT 2009: The 7th International Symposium on Targeted Anticancer Therapies. The all-plenary program, which is being organized by the NDDO Education Foundation, will include keynotes and reviews of emerging targeted agents for cancer therapy, as well as updates on recent early-phase clinical studies and translational research. Reduced fees are available for NCI employees and ESMO members.

The deadline for abstract submission is February 1, 2009. Accepted abstracts will be published in Annals of Oncology. Registration and abstract submission information.
