Cancer Center researchers to present at annual AACR Frontiers in Cancer Prevention Research conference
Irina Stepanov, Ph.D., Hecht lab, will present a poster "Detection and quantitation of N'-nitrosonornicotine in human toenails by liquid chromatography-electrospray ionization-tandem mass spectrometry" at the Biomarkers of Carcinogen Exposure session during the annual AACR Frontiers in Cancer Prevention Research conference. Leukemia & Lymphoma Society issues "Call for Nominations" for 2nd Annual Relentless for a Cure Award
The 2nd Annual Relentless for a Cure Award will be presented at The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's 2008 Man & Woman of the Year Grand Finale Gala in June. The award is given to an outstanding Minnesota medical professional whose research, diagnosis and/or treatment has contributed to improved quality of life for patients and their families and/or great advancements in the field of lymphoma or blood cancers. The professional can be a physician or a researcher who is actively practicing or retired.

Brain Tumor Society Research Grant Program
Application Deadlines: Letter of intent form due January 16, 2008. Invited full proposals due April 16, 2008.
Funding: 1-2 year, $100,000/yr direct costs. No indirect allowed.
The Brain Tumor Society seeks letters of intent for scientific research on brain tumors directed at finding a cure. Any project with the potential to advance basic scientific and translational brain tumor research will be considered. Clinical projects will not be funded. Funds may be used for startup projects or supplementary funding.
