Cancer Center members included in Minnesota Monthly's 'Best Doctors for Women' list
Several Cancer Center members are among the physicians listed as 'Best Doctors for Women" in the May issue of Minnesota Monthly. The doctors were recommended by peers in a metro-area survey conducted earlier this year. They are:
Cancer Center members participate in the American Society for Pediatric Hematology/Oncology meeting
John Kersey, M.D., and Julie Ross, Ph.D., were plenary speakers at the Presidential Symposium of the American Society for Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Meeting in Toronto on Saturday, May 5.The symposium focused on infant leukemia. Kersey presented his research on the MLL/AF4 mouse model of infant leukemia and Ross spoke on the epidemiology of infant leukemia. Jacob Tolar, M.D., Ph.D., chaired a session at the meeting titled "Hemoglobinopathies—To BMT or not to BMT?"
Pennell to speak at American Association of Immunologists annual meeting
Christopher Pennell, Ph.D., member of the Cancer Center's Immunology Program, will be chairing a workshop at the annual meeting of the American Association of Immunologists. The workshop, "Skills for the Big Chill - How to Survive and Thrive as a Newly Independent Scientist," is directed to young investigators who want to be, or have recently become, Principal Investigators. Pennell will speak on "Succeeding as a PI: why you need more than science."

New on the Web site: 'Training the next generation of researchers'
