CANCER CENTER 2005 ANNUAL REPORT WILL BE AVAILABLE ON WEDNESDAY, JAN. 4

Be sure to pick up to read and share with your family the Masonic Cancer Center 2005 Annual Report. Along with research accomplishments and financial information, the 2005 annual report features stories about people whose lives have been touched by the work of Cancer Center researchers and staff. Copies of the report will be available starting Wednesday afternoon (Jan. 4) on each floor of the Masonic Cancer Research Building in the Atrium.

AHC SECURITY AND SAFETY AWARENESS ROUNDTABLE

Academic Health Center staff and faculty are invited to an informal discussion regarding security and safety awareness on the job. Guest speakers include Matt Quast and Erik Stenemann from University Police. Please bring questions, comments, and concerns for an open forum and round-table discussion. The seminar will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2006 from 11 am to 12 pm in Room 1-450 Moos Tower. Light refreshments will be provided. The seminar is co-sponsored by University Police, AHC Office of Facilities, and CHIP. Please contact CHIP Director Jenny Meslow at meslo001@umn.edu with questions.

UNIVERSITY CAMPUS HOSPITAL LOBBY TO CLOSE FOR RENOVATIONS

The lobby of the University of Minnesota Medical Center will be closed to all traffic sometime in early January, when a five-month renovation project begins. Patient and visitor traffic will be redirected through the Masonic Cancer Center entrance during the closure. The Masonic Cancer Center is on Harvard Street adjacent to the current hospital entrance. The coffee cart in the current lobby will be relocated to an area near the hospital’s Diehl Plaza entrance. Watch for signs announcing the closure.
