About Rein in Sarcoma

This is a sidebar to "Meeting of the minds," an article about the Masonic Cancer Center's sarcoma research and treatment program.

The Karen Wyckoff Rein in Sarcoma Fund raised $60,000 for sarcoma research at the Masonic Cancer Center during an annual event held in July 2006. More than 600 people from five states attended the Rein in Sarcoma event to enjoy entertainment and a silent auction, learn more about sarcoma, and donate funds for sarcoma research. Karen Wyckoff established the fund shortly before her death from synovial sarcoma in 2001. Over the years, the fund has raised more than $200,000 for sarcoma research. The three main objectives of the fund are: Find a cure for sarcoma by raising money for research, educate medical professionals and the public about this rare cancer, and support sarcoma survivors and their families.
